Some crazy dream

I had a dream where I was younger, like in my late teens, but it was the future. Lowpoint was a bustling metropolis. I lived in the same spot I grew up in in real life, but my house was completely different. It was small on the outside, but was like a mansion on the inside. I was hearing some really weird noises coming from outside, so I started to go out. As I was passing, I looked at the fireplace and noticed it wasn't lit. But when I got outside I looked at the chimney and noticed that it was billowing out a black-green colored smoke. Then I looked up at the sky and at the clouds and they were in some really distinct shapes. One of them was in the shape of a picture of a movie star... you could see the details in his face and everything! But I forget who I thought it looked like. At any rate, I went inside really fast to get my camera and take a picture of it, but by the time I got back out it was gone. So I looked around, and noticed that our house was really high up off the ground, kind of like the Jetsons, if you will. And our yard outside was just a man-made lawn like a potted plant of sorts. As I stood there, the ground started to give way! And I started falling and falling and falling. As I was falling I was hugging a piece of the "pot", as it were, that the yard was planted in. Mid-fall, the piece of the "pot" had turned into a REALLY big couch cushion and I turned into a really young girl. Like maybe about 8 or 10 or so. And when I landed, I landed on the big couch cushion and didn't get hurt in the fall at all. And my brother Dan was there when I fell and I ran into his arms and cried and cried and cried. Then the dream ended.

Now, how's that for weird?

A Dream I Dreamt.

A Dream I Dreamt.

A bump, a whisper,
"Who's there", I say
and am replied with nothing.
I go back to sleep,
I dream of her,
a girl in flowing white,
whispering to me of things I need to hear.
And I wake to find her standing there,
a cold damp chills me.

"Who are you?", I ask
and am replied with nothing.
I go back to sleep.
In my dreams, I see her there,
beckoning to me.
I follow her.

She leads me to
a place, or a time,
where nothing is there that ever was.
It is shimmering,
a place I dreamt so long ago.

There are fields around me,
a soft focus,
and she whispers to me of things I need to hear.
As she whispers, flowers come to bloom.
Flowers I've never seen before,
all red and purple and gold.
We dance among the flowers and the wheats,
dancing,
dancing.

And she whispers to me some more,
and we fall asleep in the field,
dreaming of beautiful things.
When we wake, we eat the fruit of the trees
that have blossomed as we dreamed they would do.

And when I wake,
she is nothing but a distant memory
and I taste the fruit of forgotten dreams.

I just nearly scared myself to death!

So a lot has happened since I last posted, as usual.

The first thing that happened is that I broke the computer while I was downloading music. I accidentally downloaded a virus that wouldn't let us start the computer back up. So we sent it off to my brother-in-law, Joe. And, being that he has three kids and a wife to support with two full time jobs AND while going to college, it took MONTHS to get it fixed. But that's another part of my long schpiel about everything that has been going on.

After I broke the computer I got "promoted" (it wasn't really a promotion, just getting into a position at work that pays a lot better) to cashier at work. So, instead of making the 7.45/hr I was making, I get paid 8.05/hr to put up with a bunch of crap from customers. But that's ok because when they're being all angry at me I just tune them out with a happy little tune in my head! ;D

After I got promoted, Sam and I bought a house. Let me rephrase that... a HUGE house. This sucker is 2 stories, has 5 bedrooms, and has 2 full bathrooms! How sweet is that?! But we don't use the upstairs because my brother-in-law Jason is living with us. That's ok though, he's a pretty nice guy when he's not being melodramatic.... but that can be saved for another entry because I don't feel like getting into it right now.

As great as this house is, it has a lot of problems that need to be fixed. The tenants before us took a LOT of shortcuts to "fix" all the problems this poor house has been through. The wiring is REALLY old (Ed was thinking maybe at least 30 or 40 yrs old, maybe older), so that needs to be completely redone. The plumbing was just AWFUL.... the downstairs bathroom and kitchen sink barely even drained at all. But Sam and Ed have gotten most of the plumbing done now, so YAY!!! I think the plumbing and the wiring are the worst of the problems, aside from the insulation. There is absolutely NO insulation upstairs and only the living room downstairs has insulation. So you could be burning up in the living room, then step into the dining room and freeze your butt off. But that's enough about the house.

We got our computer back that I broke so many months ago just this past Friday. So, of course, I'm all super-excited that we got the internet back and I can check my email and get on xbox live and what not. So, not even an hr ago, I'm watching videos on youtube, and all of a sudden, my computer freezes and makes this really loud buzzing sound that just wouldn't stop! Then the screen went blue and said something about the computer beginning to dump the physical memory, then a minute later the screen goes back and the computer starts trying to restart. But instead of restarting, it said something like "no bootable device- insert boot disk and press any key". So, naturally, I'm freaking out because I thought I had broken the computer AGAIN. So I call Jason and his gf Ronda downstairs to see if they would know how to fix it before I called Sam, but of course they didn't. So I call Sam while he's at a friend's house playing Dungeons and Dragons, and told him what happened. He told me all I had to do was to hold down the power button and restart the computer. So I did that and, lo and behold, the computer works fine now. I just want to know... wtf is up with me not being able to touch a computer without it doing something weird????? That NEVER happened to me before I moved to Missouri.
