I just nearly scared myself to death!

So a lot has happened since I last posted, as usual.

The first thing that happened is that I broke the computer while I was downloading music. I accidentally downloaded a virus that wouldn't let us start the computer back up. So we sent it off to my brother-in-law, Joe. And, being that he has three kids and a wife to support with two full time jobs AND while going to college, it took MONTHS to get it fixed. But that's another part of my long schpiel about everything that has been going on.

After I broke the computer I got "promoted" (it wasn't really a promotion, just getting into a position at work that pays a lot better) to cashier at work. So, instead of making the 7.45/hr I was making, I get paid 8.05/hr to put up with a bunch of crap from customers. But that's ok because when they're being all angry at me I just tune them out with a happy little tune in my head! ;D

After I got promoted, Sam and I bought a house. Let me rephrase that... a HUGE house. This sucker is 2 stories, has 5 bedrooms, and has 2 full bathrooms! How sweet is that?! But we don't use the upstairs because my brother-in-law Jason is living with us. That's ok though, he's a pretty nice guy when he's not being melodramatic.... but that can be saved for another entry because I don't feel like getting into it right now.

As great as this house is, it has a lot of problems that need to be fixed. The tenants before us took a LOT of shortcuts to "fix" all the problems this poor house has been through. The wiring is REALLY old (Ed was thinking maybe at least 30 or 40 yrs old, maybe older), so that needs to be completely redone. The plumbing was just AWFUL.... the downstairs bathroom and kitchen sink barely even drained at all. But Sam and Ed have gotten most of the plumbing done now, so YAY!!! I think the plumbing and the wiring are the worst of the problems, aside from the insulation. There is absolutely NO insulation upstairs and only the living room downstairs has insulation. So you could be burning up in the living room, then step into the dining room and freeze your butt off. But that's enough about the house.

We got our computer back that I broke so many months ago just this past Friday. So, of course, I'm all super-excited that we got the internet back and I can check my email and get on xbox live and what not. So, not even an hr ago, I'm watching videos on youtube, and all of a sudden, my computer freezes and makes this really loud buzzing sound that just wouldn't stop! Then the screen went blue and said something about the computer beginning to dump the physical memory, then a minute later the screen goes back and the computer starts trying to restart. But instead of restarting, it said something like "no bootable device- insert boot disk and press any key". So, naturally, I'm freaking out because I thought I had broken the computer AGAIN. So I call Jason and his gf Ronda downstairs to see if they would know how to fix it before I called Sam, but of course they didn't. So I call Sam while he's at a friend's house playing Dungeons and Dragons, and told him what happened. He told me all I had to do was to hold down the power button and restart the computer. So I did that and, lo and behold, the computer works fine now. I just want to know... wtf is up with me not being able to touch a computer without it doing something weird????? That NEVER happened to me before I moved to Missouri.
